We just swam back across the pond... boy are our arms tired!
But, seriously now, we're finished mixing our record ("With Arrows, With Poise") in Berlin with the splendid bloke Michael Ilbert (Cardigans, Kent, The Hives, etc) and also finished mastering our record in London with the ebullient chap Adam Nunn (Mogwai, Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, etc). The Berlin Wall (what's left of it), to quote Jeremy, was "mighty like a centaur, slick like a Studebaker, yet dead as a minnow in an oak tree." Whatever that means and despite that, Germany was gorgeous and ancient. And England, to quote Steven, concerning the London Eye, was "quite transcendent... in that it enabled me to see far enough away that I fully perceived the old and quite literal meaning of 'On the corner is a banker with a motorcar, the little children laugh at him behind his back. And the banker never wears a mac... in the pouring rain, very strange."
Fulfillment. Folks. Angle land fulfillment. Perhaps. The Myriad in Burberry, forsooth!
We are quite proud with the quality of gloriousity achieved in said mixed/mastered songs. They literally have wings now... with white feathers and all! The mastering suites at Abbey Road were beyond words. And I mean beyond words when I say beyond words.
Also: we're including three of the completely finished, bright, brand new songs on our upcoming EP "Prelude to Arrows" {LIMITED EDITION!!!} which will be available in early October... THAT'S LIKE TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!!
HOLY COW!
That's right.
Three songs off the forthcoming record.
Two special, EP-only songs.
One magical song thingy for only the truly faithful Myriad comrades in arms.
Tomorrow I will post a bulletin/blog further explaining the EP.
So get ready for rock and roll Christmas, yo!
PS: Go ahead and delight in the new look of our myspace profile. We're stoked on the magic of it. It's the aesthetic wizardry of our new EP done by none other than David Gorum out in Chicago. It should make you feel tranquil and inspired. If not, well... then, have a strong and pungent Americano, breathe in the warm coffee vapors, then look again. If nothing happens then... um, then, well, I'm sorry, we can't help you. Take a hike through Narnia, Middle Earth, or Detroit, maybe you'll feel better.
