About

Andy McLeòid (b. 15-10-1975) and José Ángel Pastor (b. 11-02-1976) are The Nazarians, a band that started back in December 1996 and influenced specially by The Beatles, focusing on George Harrison. Anyway, each one searching for a different kind of influence, Andy likes classic pop and 80's (The Cure, Depeche Mode) and J.A. prefers the magic of guitars (Nirvana) and American composers (Dylan, Springsteen).

During the first years they record two amateur MC, The Space (1997) and The Sea (1999), and tour in mid 1997, but always with interruptions in their work. Around this time they create the basis of their sound, close to classic rock, though each work and each song is a different world. The fact of playing several different instruments is an advantage for them though they always like to have good external collaborations.

In 2001 they record their first CD, Om, very close to the classic Phil Spector's wall of sound. A very sophisticated album with Andy tending to hard rock (Domination, The Void), and J.A. composing on deep pianos (Oh My Lord, Forgive Them). This album is followed by the Holy Tour, extended until 2003, with some musicians such as Paco Coloma, Juanca Egido and Sacha.

In 2002, their second CD is absolutely the opposite. Crude is a very "crude" album with much distortion and intense drums and bass guitars. J.A. compose some anthems (Cristo Fue Tu Chulo, Bitch Away) and Andy goes wild (Worm, Suggestion), very violent songs all of them. Two songs composed by the two of them together (Krishna Reggae, Chants To Krishna) are more clear and melodic.

In the middle of the tour, with Juanca on drums and Sacha on guitars, they record Fire In Your Eyes in 2003, a weaker album. Tending to pop rock, Andy goes quite good through this style (Just For You, I Don't Exist) and J.A. sounds completely American (Queen Of Sea, Life Can Be Fatal). With a concert in Mislata, The Nazarians close this stage.

In early 2004 Andy and J.A. record two songs (Song For Harrison, I'll Be Waiting All My Life) but tension between them and musical differences stop the possibility of a new album. In mid 2004 these two sad ballads go into their first compilation, The Nazarians 2001-2004, with many songs from the three previous albums.

In the summer of 2005 they open a new stage recording and releasing in September their new album Fuck You All, where the band spit their complexes and go wild in a new and fresh way. Andy is stuck into his loved wall of sound (I'll Never See You Again) and goes into techno and dance (Empty). J.A. scorches the world and faces social and political problems with a very bitter hardness (White Power, Hijos De Puta). Due to this, radical sectors of the society want the band to be censored. Despite menaces and aggressive postures, the Fuck You All Tour starts, with David Arce on drums and Kike Bena on bass guitar. The tour is short but very successful. After all these adventures it's time for a long rest.

In early 2007 the band begins with a new recording. This album, called Again, appears in July and is a coming back to classic pop-rock but handling different styles. Andy records dance-pop (Dancing Through The Night) and English pop (Busy Girl), and J.A. composes orchestral ballads (Angela) and several kinds of rock (Down The Road, Nazis Everywhere). When the album is released, The Nazarians announce that they'll never be touring again, but the door is opened for new studio recordings.
