About
The Band: 3 Guys from Michigan - Suburban Detroit, Ann Arbor. Scene vets from way back when they played in bands like The Holy Cows, American Mars, Slug Bug, Culture Bandits, and 3 Speed. Older, wiser and better for sure, but not slower, quieter or lazier. Since February 2002 The OffRamps have been throwing it at a wall to see what sticks.
The Sound: They've been labeled by the press as Power-Pop, Ameicana, Pop-Punk, or - depending who you ask - various combinations of those terms. But they all call it rock. The kind that goes well with a beer and a shot in a smoky bar. The kind that you crank in the car while you're singing along. The kind that you weren't sure still existed in this age of MTV2 and Myspace. It's real, honest, heart-felt mid-western rock.
The NEW Record: This ain't your standard fare of Manchester-Brit-pop, Ultra-Safe-Adult-Alternative-Country, or Shopping-Mall-Eyeliner-Punk. The 12 songs on the the new album "Split the Difference" are well crafted and passionately played, produced loud and hot, with layers of guitars and hidden hooks.
The Live Show: When The OffRamps take the stage, people listen. Granted, they have no choice, but they don't seem to mind either. Spanning the upper-mid-west with stops in nearly every major city and university town in Michigan and Northern Ohio, The OffRamps have garnered a reputation for tight, energetic sets that grab people's attention and don't let go.
The Future: With a trail of over 100 gigs behind them and a plenty more booked in the future, The OffRamps will continue to soldier on, winning over music fans. There are more cities to play and more records to be made. Nice meeting you.
