The Poison Control Centre began when musician / composer / songwriter Neil Patrick Howlett [who was already well-known for his work with Young Astronauts Club], began experimenting with electronic music composition.
Fast-forward a few years and several hundred finished tracks later, the first compact disc was released via Please Recordings, produced by Neil and his wife Crystal on both sides of the Atlantic, and featured a wide range of contributors, appearances and borrowed sounds from all over the globe. The album, simply called "The Poison Control Centre", is considered a collection of soundtracks to places, events and times in our modern age - a hopeful reminder that something is very wrong, and that massive change will and must take place.
The Howletts eventually finished another e.p. of material for Please Recordings - 5 tracks to remind us of the mundanity of the commercial world, the erosion of human relationships due to technological influences and, of course, how to dance - and released a 3 song collection culled from the first album in conjunction with Quebec-based net label, Pertin-nce Records.
For the sake of continuity, all music by The Poison Control Centre would be filed under Young Astronauts Club [the longer running and more popular band featuring all major members / contributors to The Poison Control Centre] in your music retail outlet, and can be heard at Young Astronauts Club live performances.
Future works are planned!
