The Sun

THE SUN is Sam Brown - Sam Brown is Six feet One inches tall and enjoys the beautiful mountain state of Alaska. He’s a rugged mans' man. Bryan Arendt - Bryan Arendt is Four feet Eleven inches tall and two hundred and thirty-seven pounds. He usually carries a firearm. "Bobby" Brad Forsblom - "Bobby" is a handsome Five foot Eleven and walks with a limp. He is a craftsman and was injured in his duties (kiln related). Chris Burney - Chris Burney is Five feet and Six inches tall. He suffers from the short mans view of things. Don't get too close. Bradley Caulkins - Bradley Caulkins is Six foot and Four inches tall, all muscle. He was primarily added to the group so the other four could start shit, then get Brad to kick their asses. A Poem about "The Sun" The Sun is a bastard of its bitching. The Sun is a bitch to its bashfulness. The Sun should Probably grow up, potential is a buzz killer. Jesus stood shoulder to shoulder with the Sun. Bryan is a smelly boy. Brad One is a Bad boy. Brad Two is a mommas boy. Sam is an Aries and cries like one. Chris is a curse and the worst of all. Light Shines, Babies cry, why, because the largest percentage thinks it is the end times. So we made a record. It had something to do with this, but a little more to do with ourselves. We tried, lord, we tried. It turned to a crying contest. Who got hurt the mostest. The molested one or the destroyed son. Little baby boys are starting to shine though. So don't count us out. Maybe one will shower, maybe one will learn to speak. Hopefully all this play acting will be cut the fuck out and we won't come across so meek. The Sun needs an ass-kicking, but we will throw the fuck down. Come to talk shit, be prepared to see us play loud. Come and See us live. Come and See us live. We will Survive. We Will Survive. Chronology (in no particular order) Winter: Start recording with Ben Hillier in the beautiful mountains of New York State. A month goes by. Chris losses his shit and disappears. The Record is mixed. While mixing Sam starts to write songs. The mixes are rejected by the label. It’s decided Sams' songs will be recorded for the record. Chris is found. Spring: Fights are fought on grounds of original intention. Winners stand tall, take all. Shows are played. Brad Two is picked up as a useful member of The Sun. Brad One falls in love. Bryan stays Bryan and tries to remember to remember to love. Summer: Recording is resumed in Loss Angeles with Jon "The Lion and The Bear" Goodmanson. Songs include a forced version of the rocker "Its that Easy". The Song is a failure. Winners include "Valentine" and "Pass Jesus Wind." The Boys live it up and forget to work (again). Fall: The Finishing touches are put on the record. All told seventy songs were recorded. An EP was made. (DID YOUR MOTHER TELL YOU, 7-song EP). A full-length is being decided. A second full-length is in the works as well as an outtakes record. Homework was done. Money was spent. We will continue to write with less bitching. Thank You! . . . Chris Burney, singer-songwriter-agitator (but kind to animals and some small children) is responsible for information you have just received from above. Believe what you will. DID YOUR MOTHER TELL YOU? EP is available now! Watch for THE SUN on tour most of the time! Full LP to surface early 2005. Consider this a warning shot. DID YOUR MOTHER TELL YOU? EP: My Girlfriend’s Best Friend Valentine Did Your Mother Tell You? Demons Justice Sandy Song For Your Daughter thesunwebsite.com
