About The Wenzels
The Wenzels have been making music since 1992 in all
sorts of incarnations including industrial, electronica and for
over 10 years alternative guitar driven rock. Just when you
think you've heard it all The Wenzels come up with
something completely different. Don't hastily judge this
band or you won't have the full picture.
The Wenzels have been compared to such greats as the
flaming lips, weezer, depeche mode, cake, prince, lou reed
and bowling for soup. You listen and you be the judge.
The Wenzels got their big start in Okinawa Japan, but life
took them on a wild ride all the way to the other side of
the world where they landed in Germany. The band now
resides in New Jersey, where they continue to write and record
songs and play live.
In 2000, The Wenzels were featured on the very first tribute to
weezer album playing their favorite song "Mykel and Carli". After
that they were featured on an album called "New Kid Fake Headbutt"
that was distributed widely at the Vans warped tour.
Chris (Singer/songwriter/guitar player) continues to be the heart of the band,
doing all of the music production, recording and songwriting. Keeping a band
going is very difficult. We are in the New Jersey/Philadelphia area and currently
are searching for a Bass/Upright bass player. If you are interested, please contact
Chris.

Amsterdam was great! Sun for the whole week except for one cloudy/rainy morning. I've put some pics on my page. Been up to anything interesting?

Where the blue of the night was great. Very hymn-ish. Loved the Bonanza theme at the end of it. Maybe you do have it in your blood. I remember when I saw The Whole Nine Yards I really liked the jazz band that played throughout the movie. I dont' know, I think it's a great genre and you're well suited to sing it. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words on my site -- I'm sure you know how good it feels when someone says that they like your music. I rarely get heard by anyone but my wife and kids, so I really appreciate it. And speaking of music -- I agree with Pappy, "The Coffee Song" is really cool! I heard it on his site and really got a kick out of it. My wife is a big Sinatra fan so I had heard his version. You've got a real feel for stuff like that or "Old Cowhand". And it''s especially cool because almost no one else does it. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Pappy! I took your advice and did another Crooning song. I guess it's in my blood? I don't know why I like this kind of music in modern times? Thanks for all of your support!

Pappy, May 27, 2007:
The coffee song is your best yet, Chris. Your voice is REALLY suited for crooning!
The Wenzels, May 27, 2007:
Thanks Conor! I appreciate you saying that. I always try and feel that there is still so much more untapped music within my head that I don't have enough light of day to let it out. Maybe I should turn to the Dark Side, that way I wouldn't need any daylight to write and record songs. ??? hahahaha lol Ok, but seriously, thanks man. That really was a great compliment!
