Johnny Cab Studio with Casey Bates - Seattle, WA
Two summers ago, Buffalo, NY's THIS IS AN EMPIRE set out to create something brand new, and wasted no time doing so. The band instantly embarked on a nationwide tour, wrote and recorded countless songs, and built a strong and rabid local following - all within mere weeks of incorporating.
Following the release their first digital EP in the spring of 2008, THIS IS AN EMPIRE began incessantly writing new material - an overpowering set of songs fusing electro, pop, and rock n' roll - and sharing the stage with the likes of Pierce The Veil, brokeNCYDE, Sky Eats Airplane, and Millionaires.
THIS IS AN EMPIRE will round out 2009 with the release of their debut EP. The band hits the studio this summer with Casey Bates (Chiodos, Pierce The Veil, Portugal The Man) taking the helm as engineer. What follows will prove that this young Buffalo 4-piece is more than a band - THIS IS AN EMPIRE.
