No. there is no such thing as a solo artist. "Take a Solo." All you Jazz Buffs out there know that when you hear a great solo in that music, most times there are instruments accompanying the "soloist." same is true with solo artists such as: Sting, Bjork, John Mayer, Usher... and into visual arts. Let's take a look at the word solo. Solo, to me implies being alone. In fact, one could stretch the meaning to "without." Are we ever without? Are we really ever Solo? I don't think so. "I'm flying solo tonight." Well, my friend, where are you flying to? "The bar." Well, chances are there will be others at the bar talking about it, breathing and making silent flatulents just like you there. You will not be alone. So, the next time you hear the word Solo, please, pass one of those SBD's and see who around you doesn't become uncomfortable from the smells. ... ... or, paint a picture with your eyes closed. Write a song with your ears plugged.
