One common denominator

The blood of Jesus.

While preparing for a communion meditation earlier today, I was struck with the thought that every single person on the planet is tied together by one thread, namely, the death of Christ.

Christians like to celebrate the fact that Jesus died …

This little light of mine...

I know this sounds strange, but... putting Christmas lights up was a significant experience for me this year. Growing up we always had them, and so did everyone else on the block. But for the first 6 years of our marriage, Holly and I lived in appartments and never …

Perfect Sleep Position

A while back I was squirming around in bed trying to get comfortable to catch a few more minutes of sleep and I found the perfect sleep position! It was one of those things I just stumbled upon. All my life I've been trying to find the most comfortable position to sleep …

I stumbled on a new blog for a book called "Beyond the Firmament" on evolution and theology that seems interesting. Don't know if I'll read the book but I liked this paragraph on his blog:
"So... how should Christians today tell the story of creation? Should we ignore centuries of scientific progress and defend every last detail of the Genesis creation account despite mountains of evidence to the contrary? Or, can we take a page from the Holy Spirit's playbook and use the modern scientific consensus as a polemic to make our theological points? After all, are they not the same theological points made in the Genesis account: that God is the creator, sustainer, and ruler of the cosmos? And that He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together? And that all 14 billion years of natural history culminates in the person and work of Jesus Christ?"

Seacrest out!

Tim...
I have a major recommendation for you, a book to read. I posted it in my personallity section, and I'm currently reading it now. All my life, as a christian, I've never been interested in regularily reading the Bible, I just learned about Christ through others in the Church. However, I'm so drawn to this book, It's just awsome. You have been through and graduated Ministry school, and probably studied most of the Bible, so maybe you would be interested in the same book, and I know the facts and arguments proven in it, you could probably use in your sermons, though sermons will now be in a different setting. The book is called, "The Case For Christ." Written by Lee Strobel. He was once self declared Atheist, skeptical of Jesus being proven to been real. However, majored in Journalism, and in Law, he fell upon the challenge of PROVING Jesus Christ was or was not a real figure in Our History. Using his education in law, He investigated thouroughly everything, and everyone, to try to prove Jesus did not exist, only to been argued against, and proven that all arguments us man can come up with, are rediculous. He eventually came to the light, and Found Christ to truelly be the Saviour, and using his Journalism skills, wrote a book about it. Everyone reading this blog, including Tim, should check it out, "The Case for Christ."
