The door, the gutter, and the grave are three things that Tom Schraeder has one foot in, and he's as likely to get you drunk on whiskey and pull you up on stage to provide impromptu backing vocals as he is to knock you out cold with the ballsy honesty of his Brit pop-laced Americana tunes. Either outcome of an evening with Tom seems well on its way to becoming the stuff of young rocknroll legend, as Schraeder is clearly not writing music for the faint of heart, feeble of mind, or weak of stomach. Upcoming EP The Door, The Gutter, The Grave is equal parts stark, challenging song structures and just-add-the-booze hooks - a reminder that being young is all relative and finding decent days and nights can be as esoteric as songwriting itself or as uncomplicated as the bottom of a highball.
