Build your site
The Build area is your home base for building your website with Virb. It allows you to create/edit/organize your site's pages and sidebar, as well as manage your site's information.
1. Create a new page
When you create a new page, you can choose between 5 different page types (Collection, Blog, Album, Events, Custom) or an external link page. More information below on each of these page types.
2. Sections
Stay organized by grouping pages into sections. When you have a section with more than one page, you can turn on Indexing — this will give you one page (an index) that will show thumbnails as links to each page in that section.
3. Site Information
The ability to change your site's title, add a description, use a custom domain (yoursite.com), connect Google Analytics and other information can be found here.
4. Home page
Make any of the pages you've created your home page — it's the first page your visitors will see when viewing your site.
5. Sidebar
We offer an ever growing set of Sidebar widgets. Use these to add additional information that might not need their own page but you want visible on your site at all times.
6. Page visibility
Hiding a page will remove it from your navigation, but can still be viewed by going directly to that page's link. Perfect for pages that you want to link to in your site (or use as your home page) but don't want to show in your navigation.
Create a new page
1. Collection
Collection pages help you showcase your photos and videos by giving you different display options for each — such as a slideshow, vertical/horizontal list and more.
2. Blog
Create a Virb blog for your updates, news and blog posts, so you can share the latest with your audience. Or use a blog you've already setup on Tumblr.
3. Album
Create a page that displays album art, track listing and description for your album. Upload an mp3 to any track and visitors can listen to the song on that page.
4. Events
Easily showcase events for music events, art shows and movie screenings from Last.fm, Facebook and other supported sites. You can also enter these manually.
5. Custom
Have a page that doesn't really match any of our other page types? Custom pages put you in the driver seat with an easy-to-use WYSIWYG editor.
6. External Links
Easily add links to other websites (like your online store, Flickr photostream, or MySpace profile) to your site's navigation.
Add content to your sidebar
1. Custom
Add custom content easily using our WYSIWYG. Add information like store hours, contact information or anything else you want to be shown throughout your site.
2. Audio player
Once you've created an audio album page, you will be able to add an audio player to your sidebar. Choose which songs you want in the player and re-order them.
3. Last.fm widgets
Last.fm users can automatically pull in their recently played tracks, top artists, and top tracks. Bands can pull in their upcoming shows.
4. Twitter
Just enter your Twitter username and start pulling in your most recent tweets. Choose how many and you're done. Synergy.
Customize your theme
When you are viewing your own site, you can click on the cog icon in the top right to see the customization options available for the theme you are using.
1. Customize
Options include easily editing your site's tagline, logo, header image, background, and footer text. All customization happens in real-time. Sorta like magic.
2. Colors
A few little color customizations can dramatically alter your site's look and feel. Go crazy. Hot pink is the new neon green.
3. Fonts
Do you love/hate Helvetica? Are you a lifelong sans-serifer? You can now pick from an ever-growing font library and achieve typographic bliss.
4. CSS
If you do happen to know CSS and want to take customization to the next level, you get that control on 2 fronts — site-wide and/or page-specific CSS.
