It wouldn't be so bad if parts of these required some kind of thinking...but sadly, it doesn't. All day long I have to make bland designs because the types of clients we get are usually in the plumbing, hvac, voip, law, construction or lawn care industry. You end up having to make tons of things that are similar because you're getting the same types of industries over and over again. I don't even want to call them designs, its more like templates because there is a long list of things you have to have which I really don't think needs to be on every single on of the designs because I don't they that they are always helpful to the client.
After the "design" comes template creation. You would think that I would get to think at xhtml/css part but once again, I don't. Since the designs are so template-ish (in my opinion) the css from site to site shares huge similarities. After modx is installed (which I don't do myself) the xhtml is like 90% complete. Basically, I just have to add the navigation and side content stuff like images or sub navigation. Then I'm done.
Some people are really good at coming to work and doing the same thing over and over again. They're almost robotic at times, but that's just me. I need to think and I need to be challenged. Working zaps all my energy.
