I'm been trying to make skin for second life for so long and I finally did it! I'm very, very excited. I think it just needs a little bit more detailing, a good name and nice variety of skin tones.

Still Bored

I'm jealous of all the people that aren't bored at work. I don't know how they do it. All I know is that I can't. I couldn't be more bored even if I tried...well I suppose if I were sitting in some hour and a half long meeting about search marketing I could probably get more bored. Assuming that I don't have something I can draw on. I wake up every week day and think about the boredom to come. That can't be normal. Perhaps if I didn't think about being bored then I wouldn't be. I don't really believe that though.

The Perfect Vaction

I can't wait. This is long overdue! I'm going to plan it around Equus on Broadway. Whenever tickets go on sale, which I think will be sometime in the summer, I'll be heading to NYC for my perfect vacation. I won't have to make ghastly, boring websites or endure my mother's repetitive questions. I'll have an entire week that's just for me. It's going to be so wonderful. I'll go to the Broadway show, ride in a limo, visit the Apple Store on 5th street, go to central park, visit the museum of modern art and have 2 meals at 2 of Gordon Ramsey's restaurant. That reminds me, I need to find a good digital camera.

It wouldn't be so bad if parts of these required some kind of thinking...but sadly, it doesn't. All day long I have to make bland designs because the types of clients we get are usually in the plumbing, hvac, voip, law, construction or lawn care industry. You end up having to make tons of things that are similar because you're getting the same types of industries over and over again. I don't even want to call them designs, its more like templates because there is a long list of things you have to have which I really don't think needs to be on every single on of the designs because I don't they that they are always helpful to the client.

After the "design" comes template creation. You would think that I would get to think at xhtml/css part but once again, I don't. Since the designs are so template-ish (in my opinion) the css from site to site shares huge similarities. After modx is installed (which I don't do myself) the xhtml is like 90% complete. Basically, I just have to add the navigation and side content stuff like images or sub navigation. Then I'm done.

Some people are really good at coming to work and doing the same thing over and over again. They're almost robotic at times, but that's just me. I need to think and I need to be challenged. Working zaps all my energy.

Swallowing Blood

I got all four of my wisdom teeth out yesterday and everthing tastes like blood and raw chicken. Not that I've ever had raw chicken but I imagine if I were to it would taste like what I'm tasting now. It doesn't hurt at the moment but I have a feeling that it will hurt much more in a few hours. I'll be taking the pain meds to work for sure. The people in the doctors office looked at me like I had four noses when I told them I'd be going back to work the next day. I don't really have a choice. I would love to not have to go tomorrow. On the plus side it's Friday so I have the weekend to heal in peace.

Two Hours of Ice Skating

I went ice skating with Melissa today at MCM. There were so many people there. Long story short, I saw this man with an MCM coach warm up on and I asked him how to stop and he taught me how to snow plow. I can do it for the most part but I'm not super comfortable with it yet because I tried bending my knees more and I just ended up falling on my butt really, really hard. It was the worst feeling ever but I didn't break, twist or sprain anything so its all good. I'll go back another day and practice stopping. I also got a cut on my elbow from a previous fall. That hurts the most.

Right now, my lower back feels sore. I can't wait for that to stop hurting. I'm way to scared to pop it.

Funny is remembering that just because someone forgets to assign you the case to do a design, it doesn't mean that you don't have things to do. How did I forget this. Ugh! I'm really, really hating photoshop. My goal for tonight: deploy one tiny little rails app.

Hhhmm...maybe I should wait for those design cases....*sigh* I'll just start them.

I finally got some time to do something with virb. I'm not finished customizing it but I like where it's headed.

At this very moment, everything is perfect. I've done all my work at work. My CRM is empty, aside from a creative call for tomorrow, and I'm enjoying that sweet, sweet feeling of peacefulness and freedom.

At least tomorrow I'll have a happy memory of today. I think I'll take a trip down the rabbit hole later.
