Travis Avila

Travis Avila believes in the link between God and music. Advocating the relevancy of this connection to our generation, Travis is committed to developing songs that evoke response. The Californian singer/songwriter creates wide-open soundscapes that encourage the listener to participate in the worship experience.

In an era when music's accessibility can lead to oversaturation, Travis' Lullaby, offers a unique approach to congregational worship. The EP's upfront lyrics and alluring melodies explore themes of joy, sorrow, questioning and hope. Travis unassumingly conveys life's distinctive realities, presenting them as opportunities to worship through any circumstance. This emphasizes the connection between God and music and drives Travis to compose content that helps others express their feelings towards a loving Savior.

The Story Behind the Song....

This post is a long time coming, but i thought it necessary to explain the song Lullaby, as people are wondering how it came about. A little over a year ago, my brother-in-law was dealing with another bout of cancer. He was getting more sick every day, and in the back of everyone's mind was..."is this it?" I came home after a visit, and began to ask the Lord..."why?" It seemed as if death was all around me. I just wanted to know that Jesus would really save the day. If the things that i believed so strongly were really true. Is he bigger than our pain...does he speak in the quiet times...is death part of God's plan. As i wrote and sang, the Lord confirmed my convictions. And even though my brother-in-law has passed away, i've never been more certain that God is who He says He is, and that He deserves our worship in the darkest places. Hopefully the song will bring comfort in those times.
