qui suis-je ?

troisnyx* [trwa-niks] is the stage name of Annette Pretiba Singh, an artiste that doesn't seem to fit into any proper genre. She is known by many to be whimsical, revolutionary and eccentric - to the point that some can't tolerate her guts.

troisnyx* first began composing in 2001, but that too, was by coersion - it was for some music school project and the song was to be completed in one month. And after all the kicking, chiding and screaming, she took it to Yamaha to be recorded - and a few months later, Yamaha Headquarters gave her a review and three stars [troisnyx* : freakin' three stars !]. Disillusioned, she took a hiatus from composing for one whole year. It was only in 2003, when she was in Form 1, that she began songwriting once again - it was from then on that troisnyx* decided to picture herself as a free person - free from coersion, free from the specified genres and elements critics look for... and ever since then, she has never looked back.

She is currently doing her A-Levels in Brickfields Asia College, Kuala Lumpur, and is thinking of pursuing a law degree to add to her résumé.

When asked by her peers what her main aim is, troisnyx* only gives this as a reply : "I don't give a damn about qualifications. A whole lotta people want to see me go to Berklee College of Music or International College of Music (ICOM) to further my studies considering the fact that I'm musically inclined. But I don't wanna try my hand out on that. I attempted the DipABRSM (for starters, that is one of the lower diplomas from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), and I flunked at that. I'm no sight-reader. All I wanna do is touch people's hearts with my music. You don't need a paper qualification to change people's lives."

At the moment troisnyx* does not have any recordings. Almost all texts are on her blog while all tunes are either in her head or drafted out in a patchy, horrible .amr file.
