It's like something that swirlls and rolls then it hangs on, burns and scratches. These are sounds, words ans silences. They all interwine, yet nothing is alike in the musique of Un Homme et Une Femme. Franck sings, begs and insults in this french language, that he has made his own. His words hurt and heal. Alongside are, Kevin and Steve, they elevate themselves with sounds strait from New York, violent rythms, mix with sour, syrrupy and dazzling harmony. Alamera is their incredibly mature debut album. Un Homme et Une Femme have their own oxygene, in their unique world. Without ever copying a style or a genre, they spontaneously and intuitively invent one. This surprising universe is new to our french ears : It's a place where Blonde Redhead and Clinic happen to meet Dominique A, Brel and Serge Gainsbourg. Where all musical influences flow by without ever imposing themselves. Their songs leave hybride imprints behind them: While "La seconde" forecasts a violent and unforgiving wind, "Point Nord" whispers and reveals an anger that's being painfully held back . "Alamera" is the climax of their album, it hypnotises us slowly then dies down after an enraged yet releaving explosion. On stage these emotions live on, their warmth remains, the bodies collapse, and humidity surrounds us. Their guitars stand solid and interwine, guided by haunting rythms that hit us without notice. Some uncertain sounds seize us, and then this voice links and soothes all these wild elements to finally make them burst again. This trio's commun energy has made them become one, they open doors to a univers full of contrasts, where shivers and fever overcome us, a world fromwhich you cannot come back unchanged.
