Ultimate Blogger is back with our third and greatest season to date! It's not to late to get in on the action, you can still apply to be THE ULTIMATE BLOGGER!
Urban Honking was started before the internet by Steve Schroeder, Jona Bechtolt and Mike Merrill with the help of a lot of their friends as a traditional print magazine. It lived a short and busy life but getting people to write articles quickly proved difficult (the magazine never made money, and in fact the son of a local prominent businessman lost his fortune backing the venture). After the invention of the internet all the archives of the magazine were given away for free, in the hopes that the dot.com boom would save them. The site sat patiently for quite some time and then the blog phenomenon started and breathed new life into UrHo. As the new writers grew so did the audience. Some people moved on, and new people moved in. Group blogs sprung up, photo and other visual blogs.
Finally The Ultimate Blogger was created. A web-reality show designed to make people better bloggers. While a critical success it was also a financial drain, resulting in the selling off of many assets of UrbanHonking including a popular gadget website, a mini-cooper with a custom paint job and a prized collection of 1930's soda bottle caps.
Now free of debt and outside influence Urban Honking is ready to face it's greatest challenge ever. In early 2008 the new site sub.urbanhonking.com will be launched!
