My friend Charlotte mentioned on Facebook that she's building a "soundproof studio" in her garage and was curious as to how it would work. At least one commenter mentioned the fabled "egg cartons" solution (I hope in jest) but I knew this is nowhere near good enough. Egg cartons and acoustic foam on the walls will not soundproof anything. Acoustic foam is for sound treatment INSIDE the room. To build a "sound proof" studio you need a floating room.
