Submissions and Replaying

We get a lot of mix submissions for the site, and we appreciate them, but as a rule we don't add them to the playlist. One of our initial guidelines when we started was that all the mixes would be from the residents or selected by the residents. It's just how we want to do things.

Lately there have been more submissions than usual. If we don't reply to your email, please don't take it personally. It's just time consuming to listen to every mix and reply to every submission. (Another reason we just don't accept submissions... it makes things easier.)

Also, at least two sites are downloading mixes from VS and adding them to their own stream or podcast. Please don't do that. Especially without asking first.

Downloading Mixes

People seem to be missing this, but YOU CAN NOW DOWNLOAD EVERY MIX ON VINYLSLUT.

Just click the down-arrow next to every set and it's yours. There is a slight issue with filenaming, so you'll need to rename the file .mp3 for some players.

Browser Testing

As you're probably aware, we're not really a tight operation. But we do like to at least try and keep the site working for everyone. As such, I'm happy to report we've tested the redesign and upgraded player in the following browsers with much success. If you're using something not on this list, let us know how it worked out for you:

- Firefox 3 on OS X 10.5
- Safari 4 on OS X 10.5

Relaunching

Relaunch might be a bit of an overstatement. We did a slight redesign and upgraded our player software. We also changed the engine driving the chat box, making it easier to use and more reliable. You can also register there to protect your user name.

These changes are pretty small right now, but we're working towards more in the near future—namely adding some more DJs to the mix and increasing the volume of new, quality music offered.

As always, we're open to feedback and look forward to continuing to deliver music that doesn't suck for your listening pleasure.
