when spring is here again
i will throw off my coat and celebrate the passing of the snow
but the warm temperatures are covers
for the storms that wait in gentle winds
til god lets them all out
across the parking lot, your rusted car is parked so crookedly
in someone else's spot
the meter's blinking four, but you will be gone in three
too close to call, you were never one to rush
april is getting warm
i walk to work with my black tie in hand, my collar is undone
the man inside tells me that we hit seventy
it's been six months, and that's a long time to be cold
but i am somewhere else and it is ten below for all twelve months
the forecast calls for clouds
and this city is the pit that swallows all of it
with potholes made, enough to go around
if i see you again
i will convince myself i wanted to
that our paths were meant to cross
there is no bitterness
for i have pushed it down and filed it
with the last year that i lost
15 tracks
