SInce hooking up with VIRB and seeing all the great things that can be done with CSS on people's pages. It's given me the inspiration to get my ass in gear and learn how to code using CSS & HTML. I've been putting it off for far to longer and quite frankly I'm getting bored of print design and need a challenge. So I went and bought a book (the Zen of CSS design) and been playing with Xyle scope to help me see WTF is behind web pages built using CSS. Needless to say I've started to grasp the fundamentals more or less. I still need to wrap my head around the whole CSS 'box model' thing though. I tried building a web page last night that ended up frustrating me due to the fact that I was sure I had the 'math' right with the pixels, margins, padding etc but for some reason one of my floating was breaking apart the document....typical. I guess it's back to my book, googling and trial and error to find the answers.
Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying learning CSS. It's just not quite the same as print design that's for sure and I'm realizing it's going to take me a while to learn CSS...just need to be paitent.
