Formed in 1999, Hopper is an indie-rock band based in Paris (France). In 2003, they released their first full-length album A tea with D., engineered by Iain Burgess (a former soundboard companion of Steve Albini) and Peter Deimel (Chokebore, The frames, John Parish). The album was well received either by the local press, radio networks and listeners. Hopper began touring a lot : from festivals to small clubs to larger venues.

They played over 400 shows in Europe and Canada, including some opening gigs for Okkervil River, Troy Balthazar, Sonny Vincent, An Pierle, Ghinzu, Hollywood porn stars, Biffy Clyro, Alice Texas, Vive la Fête, Two Gallants, Cold War Kids, Fun Lovin' Criminals, and their best show ever at the famous Rock en Seine Festival in Paris (Franz Ferdinand, Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire...). As their energetic performances began drawing more and more followers, Hopper eventually earned the reputation of an amazing live band, carving their niche in the French rock scene. In november 2005, Hopper locked themselves in the Bear Creek studio near Seattle (Foo Fighters, Pretty girls make grave...) to record their new album, engineered by Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, Black Heart Procession, The Gossip...).

The record captures Hoppers naturally raw sound by combining analog warmth with the spontaneity of live takes. It contains 11 songs filled with emotion and humanistic stories. Sometimes melancholic yet never desperate, they are an anthem to the light at the end of the tunnel. Influenced by a wide range of musical styles such as folk, post-rock, jazz or 70s rock, Hoppers trademark sound wavers between mellow pop and raging sonic attacks. The two feminine voices differ and complement each other, accompanied by layers of burning guitars, jazzy drum beats and powerful, melodic bass lines.
