Our FMF day...with pictures!

FMF 2007 was a fun show for us to play.  We all love to play on big outdoor stages. This day was hot like it should be if you're playing outside in May in Florida.  If only we hadn't had what felt like the first hurricane of '07 come through!

The day started pretty benignly.  We arrived at 4pm as instructed and unloaded out gear.      After sitting around for a bit Melissa and Greg split to find some books at the downtown library.  Ryan went for some food and Matt was plying at Epcot right up till show time.  That left me and Jeremy to guard our gear.  It was looking like rain was on the way so we grabbed a tarp from the folks at Full Sail who were running the tech side of things.  No sooner had we covered up than the rain started. Within a half hour the rain let up enough to get the wurlitzer and drums off of the ground and into an empty semi.  Just in time!  The rain started again, only this time it was horizontal.  Jeremy and I got soaked!  I had a dry shirt for the show but poor Jeremy stayed wet from head to toe for the rest of the evening.  At one point the rain was threatening to collapse the cover over the stage which was bowing down to head height. The guitarist for Flogging molly decided the best solution was to stand under it and push up as hard as he could.  The pool of water came down squarely on his head, soaking him and all of his guitar equipment.

Fortunately it let up just in time to power the stage back up and get the show underway only 5 minutes late.  We had about 1000-1200 people there for our set which was pretty exciting for us.  We were a bit worried that the intense storm with so much lightning would send everyone to the indoor stages.  Here's my view as we were setting up.

Most of the crowd is watching the band on the other stage that you can just see in the distance.

We don't have any pictures of us playing 'cause we were all a bit too busy to take any!  If you have any that you took please post them to the comments area.  We'd love to see them.

(just got these pics from Alicia Lyman @ orlando citybeat)

If you want to see more pictures that we took click here to go to our flickr page.

It was great to meet so many new people.  Please come and introduce yourself at the next gig.
