We Were Pirates is Michael Boggs. Armed with an electric guitar, a casio keyboard, a sparse drum kit, and a laptop, he crafts annoyingly catchy yet simple pop songs. Subject matter ranges from really fun parties and the cruelty of love to self-imposed isolation and geographical dissatisfaction.
We Were Pirates recently released a five-song ep entitled, "The Wolf." The entire ep was written, performed, recorded, and produced by Boggs in his bedroom on his trusty iBook G4.
Chicago Public Radio show, "This American Life," recently featured We Were Pirates' music on their podcast. As a result, Chicago Tribune Rock Critic and co-host of "Sound Opinions," Greg Kott reviewed We Were Pirates' music, describing it thusly: "Pure pop. This should be the next Fountains of Wayne single...genius."

I just want to say that I think you're a beast (physically and musically) for making "Three of Us" into this amazingly enjoyable piece of syrupy poppy goodness. It takes a shit load of talent to pull of making a not-so-good song into something that good.
Also, one of my friends said she liked your music, so I burned her copy, I hope you don't mind having one extra fan.
Hope all is well,
peace.

Man.... but I don't want to....
Just kidding, nah, I'll be there. I'll have you know that I was very tempted to go see the first showing of Transformers instead, but I decided that supporting music was much more important than seeing a movie that's going to be highly entertaining, but not a whole lot else.
I'll be there, fo sho.
