William's Biography

William Fitzsimmons likes to fashion himself a songwriter, though truth be told he is little more than a semi-employed musical novice with a home computer and a small collection of garage-sale instruments. His self-deprecating may sometimes be considered a fault. He criticizes himself for it regularly.

Although rather private in terms of his personal life, rumors abound given his two albums (2005's "Until When We Are Ghosts" and 2006's "Goodnight") are laced with talk of broken families, heartache, and divorce. He was born and raised by blind parents in a small town in western Pennsylvania, attended college in Kentucky, lived in New Jersey working with the mentally ill, completed a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling in Pennsylvania, and now resides in Illinois where he spends his days staring at walls and writing songs.

His music has been featured on TV several times, including ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," Lifetime's "Army Wives," and MTV's "Life of Ryan." He has had mention in Billboard Magazine, Performing Songwriter Magazine, and Paste Magazine. He has toured with Cary Brothers, and toured and recorded with Ingrid Michaelson, whose vocals are also featured on his most recent album.

William will be touring in 2008 in various parts of the country (probably not alaska...sorry), and is currently working on a new album. Both of his current albums remain in the iTunes top 50 folk chart, and can be purchased from iTunes or his Myspace page (for hardcopy CDs). (See the above links.)
