Our latest project dives into the world that is Kingsbury Film. A photographer from Nashville, TN- Jonathon Kingsbury has a definite passion for creating unique compositions. His desire to have a unique site to match left us in a perfect place for working together. When we first met him, we knew this was going to be a challenging project, but we immediately took the job because... we knew it would be a challenging project! We love to have the client involved! I wish all clients were as involved, and creative as Jonny was throughout the process. His willingness to exceed the boundries put us in the best spot for creating this site- and we love that he was game. He was told he should not attempt a site like this as a photographer, and until he met us could not find anyone to take a jump with him- we immediately understood what he wanted. The site is about the photography, period. But! It doesn't have to be boring. Jonathon Kingsbury is a fresh, smart and highly talented up and coming photographer, and to make him have a boring static site is death. Our overall goal was definitely to make something that holds our personalities and showcases the work in an original way. We really did it all together, right down to the recording sessions for the audio! The portfolio is killer, we have always seen great potential in his work and are happy to help him launch his first website!
This site just went live today, and we're hoping people enjoy it's explorative nature as a departure from the normal "photo only" sites in the photography world. With this site we teamed up with the photographer in the creative process and created his own "world" for his portfolio to live. In the days of such grand social networks like virb (*ahem) it is vital, in our opinions, that a website be used to do things these places cannot provide- as well as leave them to do what they do best. Our goal was to take the hierarchy of these platforms, blog, virb, myspace, etc- and team them with a website to create a system that works together and utilizes each part in a different way.
