Mallorca ( sometimes also seen as Majorca ) is the largest of the Balearic islands. Mallorca is a popular tourist destination for Northern Europeans and people from the mainland of Spain. The native language here is a dialect of Catalan, but Spanish, English, Swedish and German are commonly heard around the island.
In addition to Mallorca's current reputation for a vacation hotspot, Mallorca also has a long and rich history. Read some about the history in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majorca
