Get it right!

Acts 3 and 4

We find our selves expounding on a story or adding in details to make our self sound better or in other words bring our self glory. Why is that? We want to look good for other people. Sometimes we do this without even thinking. Some body might ask us something and we might just blurt out the answer that makes us look better. People do this all the time with their age. Then we realize, hey I totally didn't tell the truth.
I was reading over Acts and I could not help but see Peter's example. It caught me off guard. I didn't notice it at first but as I read the passage as a whole and made note on the passage I picked up on something. It is easy to see that Peter is sharing the gospel three times in these two chapters. The more times you read it he denies himself and give God all the glory in each situation. Even when he is being question, he is bold and still tells people about God. When he could have said, "Yeah I did that," but Peter shifts all attention to Christ. Why don't we do that? Some might say, "Yeah but things are different." Doesn't scripture talk about denying our self? I think it is important as followers of Christ to bring glory to God and have him first in our life. When our relationship is right with God we will be bring his name glory instead of our own name.
