Really, writing journals, blogs, diaries, or anything similar really annoys me for some reason. Probably due to the fact I have no idea what to write about.
So today, I shall write about music.
The other day, downloaded a rather large Japanese band's discography. Well, most of their albums and singles. FLOW. You might have heard of them from Naruto, or Eureka seveN or something, but I've heard of them from last.fm and other places. They're alright I guess, nothing exceedingly standing out.
Music in general is pissing me off as of late. Probably due to ignorant assfaces who can't comprehend other music genre's or tastes, and instead isolate themselves to specific things that are horrible. Yes, emo kiddies, I am looking at you.
However, music is one of the few joys left to me, and Nouvelle Vague's 2 albums have indeed made me smile. Their self titled first effort features awesome covers, for example a nice and soft cover of the Dead Kennedys' 'Too Drunk To Fuck' and The Undertones' 'Teenage Kicks'. Normally, I wouldn't listen to this sort of thing, but it's just so damn kickass I can't put it down.
Their second album, Bande á Part features more covers, and I think I enjoy it more than their first album. 'Ever Fallen In Love' makes me smile more than any other song they have covered, and 'Eisbär' is plain magical.
I have recently hit 30,000 plays over on my Last.Fm account. This is a pretty instrumental achievement, seeing as how it's been logging all my music played in the last 3 or so years. I can look back and check on my music tastes from then, and then compare them to now. Oh, how have my tastes changed. Really.
Over the fence, Virb is starting to really kick off. I personally find it a lot more innutuative than Myspace and Bebo, and I also think that it's a lot more kickass. Probably due to the awesome customizability that it offers, and the sleek migration of Blog posts using RSS, and the awesome Flickr intregration I have yet to use. iTunes users have fun to play with the plug-in that shows your recent playings, but people who use alternative players like Foobar or Winamp can merely use a quick Last.fm chart view alternative.
Things are looking up.
