Thanks for listening in, I hope you enjoyed it, and welcome any comments you may have. I know it's pretty rough, but what can I say; between my GNX4 effects processor and Desktop computer mixing software, I honestly couldn't expect much more, oh and of course my limited experience with all of the above didn't help either.
Music has always been a part of my life. Growing up playing 2nd and 3rd trumpet in Jr. high school as well as snare drum in the marching band and then on to drums and Concert Chorus in High School. Guitar was of interest much later on when I played in a four piece Rock and Roll group for almost two years. We put together around eighty cover songs, and ten or so originals and played parties and weddings as well as an occasional gig at some local watering holes. Burnout was next on the menu for me; quit the band, and then back to school to study business for a few years.
With a recently renewed interest in music spurred on by a good friend of mine Mike, (drummer) the old Les Paul Custom has been resurrected after 20 or so years of resting comfortably in the case. I think she sounds better today then when she was taken off the rack at Musicmart in '76 when I bought her, mellowed with age, like a fine wine. As for my playing style, I haven't a clue, rock, jazz, blues, fusion, it may be a composite of them all; and its not the product of any classical training, as far as that goes I've never had a lesson. I'm probably working this in reverse but music theory, the blues scales and some of the other fundamental stuff will have to wait, right now creating new material is where I get my greatest pleasure. My short term goal is to kick out an album by years end '07.
As for gear I currently play the Les Paul Custom, through a Digitech GNX4 and into the clean channel on a Fender Deluxe amp. All tracks are initially layed down on the GNX4 and are currently engineered and mixed out using FL Studio version 7 which is immense the surface of which I haven't even scratched yet. As for Guitarist, Russ Freeman, (The Rippingtons), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Jimmy Hendrix, David Gilmore (Pink Floyd), Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, and Joe Walsh, are some of my favorites.
Thanks again for lending an ear!
