Youth Against came to life in april, 1997. when a couple of guys started jamming along just for the fuck of it... Jura and Darko played together in a deathgrind band called Anus Decay but were heading nowhere, and at the same point a hardcore band called Fester Fuck had a rehearsal with them.
From then on Trco, on vocals, and Jura (drums) + Darac (guitar) played together in an oldschool hardcore project. Soon it became more than a project, and they disbanded their previous bands to concentrate on the new band, now called Youth Against.
In October '97 they had their first concert in the now defunct, cult underground club in Varazdin callled "Grazia" in the following line up: Trco - vox, Jura - drums, Darko - bass, Igor - guit. Soon another guitarist was added to the line up - Nike (Ateisti, Overflow). Rehearsing and playing on various local gigs, Youth Against entered the studio in April 1998 to record the first demo "Fight back" containing 8 songs in the same line up, released in May, '98. Soon after the release, Trco had to do his country duty, and he joined the army for 10 months. That puts the band to rest for a while, and some changes were made during that time. Exit Jura. Nike takes over the drums. Exit Igor. Enter Zagor on guitar. That line up kicks ass for a while, but soon, again some changes were made.
Nike leaves the band to concentrate more on his other bands, and is replaced with Strija. This line up sticks together for over a year now and is functioning very good. Doing gigs all over Croatia and some in Slovenia, with plans for a small tour and recording through the end of the year, Youth Against keeps on rockin' in the free world, so watch out!
