I, Robeast 2009 (first five tracks more next week)
Hi,
This December I had the chance to watch all the Voltron episodes (Go Lion version) online. As a teen I had never seen them all or sequentially. It was fun.
There are some very cool episodes and it was a reminder of the times I grew up in. The RPM Challenge happens in February where the goal is to write and record an album during the month. This year I decided to do my own Voltron soundtrack.
All parts were written and played by me except tracks 1,3, and 10 were based on themes from John Petersen’s original soundtrack and you can hear my dog shake her collar on two tracks. I hope you have fun listening like I did working on the project.
Thanks,

Post-Epoxylipstick 2007
A concept album about a failed relationship. Indie pop to space rock dirges. Written in reverse starting with drum tracks and ending with vocals as opposed to starting with songs. Post-Epoxylipstick is the third installment from Zira. The 10 song project was written for the RPM Challenge (www.rpmchallenge.com). Recorded at the Forbidden Zone. Mastered at the Laundry room By Rat Bastard. Cover design - Ivan Marchena.
Lowtech 2002
This was kind of the greatest hits from the "Minky" sessions plus some new stuff.
It had this indie cool kids pack with stickers, a Zira button, 3" cdep, foldy cover, all in a baggie.
Ana Tosca and Charlie Calderin sang back up on Like a Champ.
Johnny Calderin played drums on Winter Holiday. Hassib Chebli played bass on Do or Try. Charlie sang lead on Boomerang. Mixed by Marco Corales. Mastered by Eric Rasco (who mixed #7). Itche Butchez rocked the Single Malt remix. Recorded at U-11 mixed at Unit 7. Cover Design - Charlie Calderin.
Minky 1999-2002
This started it all I was between bands a decided to start Zira.
Zira is a recording project ranging from micro-cassette, to digitaland analog multitrack recordings. The songwriting is mainly done by me, with guest appearances by friends. Each of the "Minky" cassettes was numbered and unique from the others, due to track listing and/or order of songs. Included was an insert denoting song titles and guest musicians. Unless it was otherwise noted i was responsible for all the craziness. Each cassette had song numbers so you knew what was what from the insert. Here are the first five tracks , Walter Roeder_beats, turntables, four track on song 1. Matt Cohen - 2nd bass ,Mix and recording on song 2. Mike Dean- recording on song 4. Charlie Calderin 2nd guitar on song 5. Cover design -Manny Prierres.

I guess I started like most music obsessed pre-pubescent boys wanting to be a rock star. adoration, sex, music, money. well I tried, and I tried, an t-t-t-try-tried. And here I am 18 years later writing songs for my friends. I've seen many of my friends and peers make …
Ed- music except where noted Nova- Producer and collar shakes

Mr. Dave Ciciotte, Mar 16, 2007:
Written in reverse - I can relate. Get the drum part and the rest of the song will take care of its self. Your RPM stuff is darn good, and the shortest month of the year to boot!!!Thanks for the comment & keep up the good work.
