Born in 1976, the year of the punk. ZLK's music education began at home thanks to his father who was a microelectronics engineer and a pirate radio fanatic and at the age of eight years old he started sampling on his dad's multitrack reeltapes and C64 using SID synthesis, making weird noise tracks. During his teens and working at a local electronics shop he bought his first SL1200's and began DJing and organising parties together with a group of friends. In this time he also learned the basics of professional producing and synthesizer use in his friends studio. When this group fell apart ZLK went forward alone and in 1998 he started making music with Minotaur Electronics and Dead TV Society under the name 'Dark Void Project' using a collection of vintage analogue synthesizers, samplers and sequencers. "Some years later we started producing on our own, splitting up the studio and evolving our personal ideas about music."
ZLK kept a very broad and versatile interest in all forms of electronic music and incorporated a computer and music software into his setup. When performing live ZLK usually teamed up with Dead TV Society or Minotaur Electronics using analogue instruments and hardware sequencers in many domestic and sometimes foreign venues. Being part of the collective 'Noxgenus', ZLK and the rest of the crew kept their music freely available for everyone by distributing it on cassettes, minidiscs, CDs and eventually on the internet. Releases on commercial vinyl and CD's are rare, but some material has been exclusively released on FingersLTD Records, N.E.W., Kommando 6 and the upcoming Simulacron Label. ZLK's music is a sonic diary, moments of importance during the most vibrant times in life. Some you might like, some not, but all of them are pure and uncut and certainly not days of finely shaved studio work made for the dancefloor. Today he is also focused on the future of multimedia such as video, 3D animation and formostly internet technology.

Yeah, I know, but I don't like those flash mp3 players that much. I do have a newer video of my sequencer, that's still too dark but is much better musically but I can't get the crappy mobile phone format to convert to something the flash applet will take. Generally I've been spending much more time coding then recording, it's like there's always one last thing to fix or add.
What have you been up to?
Kas, Nov 30, 2007:
Hey, V, wha's up?
